Tyrus
was formed in 1983 by Mark Rauseo (guitar) , Bill Butler (keys), Mike Berardanangelo (guitar), Ken Berardanangelo (bass) , Mike "Tracey" Powers (lead Vocals) and John Casoli (drums). The name Tyrus was John Casoli's idea. It came from "TY" ranasau "RUS" Rex. It represented "Power" and "Agression" as John put it. Within 6 months the bulk of "Masters of Revenge" was recorded. This album contains all the features you expect from a traditional 80ties Power-Metal masterpiece.

Songs like "Seafaring Evil", "Under Attack" or "In the nite", just to mention a few, show that Tyrus deserved by far more respect than they ever gained. During the recordings of "Masters of Revenge", John soon left the band to become a Taxidermist. Rather than adding another band member, Mike Powers swtiched over to drums and completed the album. In 1985 the band shopped the tape around and finally got "Greenworld" to distibute it. The Tape and LP finally came out a year later in 1986 after several delays. More info at Rockadrome
